- Identify the best online source of information for your topic: database or search engine.
- Identify keywords or key phrases related to your topic.
- Based on the results list, determine if your topic is too narrow or too broad.
- Make certain you have correctly spelled keywords, phrases, or names.
- Evaluate the results list or sources for accuracy and relevancy to your topic
- Determine whether the information is readable; do you understand what is being written?
If you are having trouble locating websites or databases, ask your library media teacher for advice and suggestions.
